• “///Best Tour Guide Ever”

Xi'an is a great city and it got even greater with our tour guide Alex. While Alex was showing us all the must see attractions e.g. the terracotta warriors and the big wild goose pagoda, ..., we used to eat local dishes in order to delve deeper into the culture of Xi'an. Alex has an immense knowledge of the city's history and speaks English fluently which results in highly interesting conversations. There were so many questions I wanted to know not only about Xi'an but about whole China and he never hesitated to answer them.

After we spent four days together in Xi'an, the initial tour guiding turned into a friendship which - I hope - will last for a long time.

  • “Amazing tour in Xi'an”

The guided tour in Xi’an was one of the best tours I have ever had. Not only the city itself is amazing but primarily our guide Alex (speaking perfectly English) made our stay being a unique one. We learned so much about Chinese history and tradition but also about daily life in China nowadays. We stayed in Xi’an for almost 4 days, which is sufficient to see the famous sights. However, I really recommend choosing a guided tour as this gives you the advantage to also eat at traditional restaurants and visit less known but wonderful places. We cannot imagine a better guide than Alex and we will definitively stay in touch! Whenever we will visit another Chinese city he will be our first choice!

  • “Fantastic tour guide service!”

Booked a private tour with this company and had the pleasure of getting Jim Dang as my tour guide. Couldn't have been happier. He knew the fastest ways to get to/through the madness that is the Terracotta Warriors. Very good English, knew all of the history of the region and all the good local restaurants. Jim is from Xi'an, so his knowledge is life long. After Terracotta Warriors we visited the city wall and rode bikes, then to Muslim Street. A fantastic day with an incredible tour guide. Book Jim, you will be happy you did!

  • “English speaking guide in Xian”

We visited Xian in October 2014 with friends and were fortunate to have chosen Michael Yang to show us around. Michael picked us up from the airport on our arrival in the evening with an extra driver to carry our luggage. Michael is a very congenial companion with excellent English and a warm sense of humour. The next day we enjoyed a great tour of the Terracotta Warriors. Michael was extremely knowledgable and knew just how much information to give us without overloading. He is an excellent driver with a new modern car loaded with bottles of water to get us through the day. The lunch he organised for us at a local restaurant was fantastic to say the least. The following day we wanted to do some private touring by ourselves and Michael kindly provided us with a car and driver and some excellent suggestions on what to see. We chose Michael based on previous posts we had seen on TA and we totally agree with the positive comments we had read. We wish Michael and his family every success for the future and have no hesitation recommending him to anyone planning to visit Xian.

  • “One day in Xi'an with Michael”

I found Michael here on TA and all the reviews are accurate! I was only in Xi'an one day and wanted to maximize my time. Michael picked me up at my hotel on time and off we went. Visited the Warriors, a Neolithic community, the Wall, the market and had a traditional dumpling lunch! The customs and etiquette in China are so different and it was a fantastic experience to ask questions and get real and honest answers. Michael is a pro and loves his job! I would highly recommend his services!!

  • “Wonders of China Tour”

I went on this trip expecting very little. It was the most incredible experience of a lifetime for me and my husband. The tour was excellent and our National Escort tour guide Gary Guo was the most amazing, professional and pleasant guide I've ever encountered on any tour I've taken in the past. His attention to detail and our individual needs made our trip a big difference. The tour places were excellent, the meals were fantastic and his personal. attention was outstanding. We visited Beijing, Xian, cruise the Yangtze River, Guilin, Yangshuo and Shanghai. This trip was incredible awsome. Thank you Gary for everything you did for us and our tour group. Thank you Wendy Wu. I will see soon on my next trip to Tibet.

  • “A Renewed Sense of a Life”

A Renewed Sense of a Life in Xi'an

I want to thank you for giving me some of the best days of my life. Getting to know Xi'an has made me forget about everything else. Through this unique Xi'an tour, I've been reminded that things are not so bad, that life is full of color.

With a history that dates back thousands of years, Xi'an is listed by the Chinese government as one of the Chinese Famous Cities of History and Culture. During the Xi'an tour, you will be awed by the ancient architectural wonders, enjoy the famously delicious local cuisine, and learn so much about the development of the city from the museum and exhibition center.

Xi'an is a place to find both history and natural wonders. As a renowned ancient capital, Xi'an is steeped in history, and its sights not only leave the visitor with a strong visual impression but also sense of being taken back to past ages. http://lvpad.com/cities/Xi-an/10 will helped me a lot!

The whole tour really was a comprehensive travel route of eastern China -- from metropolitan Shanghai to the charming city of Xi'an, the garden city Suzhou, and finally to the ancient and current capital, Beijing. I really loved this wonderful tour. Seriously, I was left feeling such a renewed sense of beauty and wonder. It was the perfect travel tour. I really loved it.

  • “Warriors, Banpo, The Wall - wonderful one day Xi'an tour”

Thoroughly enjoyed the one day tour. Thanks to Alex for the flawless arrangements and to angelic Sophie, guide extraordinaire.

Started at Banpo, a dig that dates to pre-history or 6000 B.C. I was told. Then moved on to the Terracotta Warriors and I was not disappointed. Later visited the 13.7km wall that encircles the old city of Xi'an.

All in all the guide and driver were excellent. I would recommend this crew to anyone with a hurried schedule but wanting to see the warriors. I found Xi'an to be the most interesting city in China ... so far. Sophie recommended the Muslim Quarter and I thoroughly enjoyed that experience as well. The area has some of the best street food in all of Asia!!

  • “Xian with Alex”

We recently toured China for 3 weeks with one of the highlights being Xian with Alex. It was an unforgetable experience seeing the various aspects of this city with such a knowledgeable, friendly and experienced guide. The sights included the wild goose Pagodas, the Shannxi museum, the city walls and drum tower. The two standout attractions for me were the Tang Dynasty show and, of course, the terracotta warriors.

Apart from the highlights mentioned Alex took us to see the locals in the city parks adjoining the moat. Here we saw the Chinese people in their everyday life listening to a small band, playing board games, exercising and taking their birds in cages for walks through the park. This was a real cultural experience seeing the people in their everyday lives.

Alex made the whole experience so enjoyable and so interesting. If you want to tour Xian I would thoughly recommend Alex.

  • “Alex made our two visits to Xi'An wonderful experiences.”

Alex has been our guide on both of our visits to the heart of China. As visitors unfamiliar with Xi'An, Alex introduced us to his city and encouraged us to explore it on our own when we were not in his care. I was a Chinese history major at University so I already knew a lot about the area from books but Alex's knowledge of the area a nd its long history helped tie my books with the streets and walls and monuments and people. Oh, and some of the best food ever....when I asked Alex about dumplings, he laughed and said that Xi'An was the home of dumplings then directed me to restaurants I shall long remember. And you must ask him to take you see and eat lamien, handmade noodles being made and cooked for you on the spot. Alex proved to the idle guide for us. His sense of humor and resourcefulness were appreciated and we will certainly call on him again when we return to Xi'an. Alex led us to our best experience in China.

  • “Chinese Delights”

We went on a 3-week tour of China last summer and were extremely fortunate to have Alex as our guide. Alex possesses a wealth of local knowledge, having spent time at university in Xi'an. He made us feel relaxed and was very organised, making sure everything ran like clock-work. Nothing was too much trouble. We explored places most tourists would not even know existed. Would travel with Alex again, anytime!

  • “Excellence in X'ian”

X'ian was certainly a highlight of our 3 week trip to China too. Our guide Alex, who did his tertiary studies there, has an excellent knowledge of the region and its history and was able to impart this in a meaningful way that made our time there most memorable.

Alex undertook task in a very professional, conscientious and most caring manner who communicated his passion for his country, its culture and customs in a most engaging and entertaining manner.

His communication skills are very good and his sense of humour fitted well with our touring party of Australians, New Zealanders and English folk.

We recommend him as a guide for anyone who wants an enjoyable and rewarding time in a place with such great significance in the history of China.
